Patty and I want to take this opportunity to express our great appreciation for the professional, thorough and positive manner in which Craig Birchfield represented us during the recent sale of our townhouse in Beaverton, Oregon.Craig was knowledgeable and resourceful. If he didn't know the answer to a question, he did the research, found the answer and got back to us in a timely manner. This included educating us on the (new to us) seller underwriting of some of the closing costs and our contribution to DreamHome through the settlement process.
The townhouse had numerous problems that had to be resolved prior to being able to put it on the market and Craig was there whenever we needed him. His consistent help with getting bids and advising us on contractors and then following through with billing and payment, made this entire process go along without a hitch.
Craig showed great initiative and on several occasions he actually purchased material on our behalf to keep the process going.
Communication is key when conducting business long-distance and Craig kept in touch on a regular basis via email and phone. He also kept and ongoing dialog with the other parties involved and provided us with timely inputs and updates.
We knew the contract we entered into with the buyer had potential if we had the patience and Craig stood by us and encouraged us when things were looking grim. He was truthful and realistic, there were no "Pollyanna" promises and, in the end, the deal went through.
We experienced many delays in the closing date due to financing issues on the buyer end and last minute discovery of attic mold which needed to me abated. Those were pretty traumatic times and could have led to a bad outcome and/or experience. We give the credit to Craig for helping us navigate all the issues ad complexity and making the total experience a good one.
Craig really lived up to the motto on his email.

To Whom It May Concern:I am very grateful for the quality and caring service I received from Craig Birchfield in the Beaverton RE/MAX office. My husband recently passed away, and I had little awareness of what was involved in selling a piece of property.
He helped me in the following ways:
1. Craig was very knowledgeable about the market in Beaverton and the surrounding area for my type of property. He sent me a booklet showing all the ways RE/MAX would help me. It also included a personalized analysis showing my property in comparison to other similar properties in the area and, including their market price.
2. He was always available to me by phone which was important to me as I live in Hawaii. He returned calls and took care of problems promptly.
3. He took time to educate me on real-estate terms and processes. He also mentioned potential pitfalls that I needed to be aware of.
4. Craig was aware of what needed to be done to present my property in the best way to prospective buyers. He made suggestions, listened to my thoughts and helped bring the two of us into agreement on what would be done.
5. He gathered names of reliable, reasonably priced companies to handle any repairs or other improvements needed to make property sell at a better price. He provided me with two different companies, their estimates and opinions on the problems. I would make the final choice of who to use.
6. He also had names of people with quality reputations in related fields such as the escrow person I ended up needing.
7. He knew how to best get through a variety of complications that arose because of the ageing of my property. He helped me figure out if a roll over of property would be best for me. He assisted me in working through the complications when my property became part of an irrevocable trust after my husband death. He also helped me in there and not be penalized when the buyer had many problems getting and keeping his loan by the date stated in the buyer contract to me.
8. Craig went a step beyond his job and made suggestions of ways to protect myself before and during the purchase of my Georgia property. These were very helpful.
Again, I want to say how grateful I am for the quality of service Craig gave me.
